Come join the Afro American Cultural Center in celebrating the legacy of Dr. King at our Poetry Slam and Open Mic on Friday Night. Performers will have the opportunity to share their poems and work as it relates to our theme: The Work Continues: Making Black Dreams Matter, civil rights movement, and social justice issues. This event is open to all fellow poets and the Yale Community. For questions or more information please contact Paige Tucker.
If you are interested in performing a piece that is no more than 5 min and could touch on issues related to religion, race, class, age, etc please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. If audience members become moved during the event, they will be able to also perform a piece during the open mic segment towards the end of the poetry slam.
